WEEK 31

7 months!

Hola Familia!!

So this has been a pretty good week. The mission is a little bit different now that I have more responsibility to do things. Training has been pretty good so far and the training is 12 weeks mom.... hah (mom thought he was only with new companion for total of 2 days but meant I have been training him for 2 days) Working with a new missionary is defiantly different because they don't have any experience but I've been showing him the ropes and he has already progressed. Oh and he is from the Dominican Republic so he talks a little different haha but I can understand him.
I'm also District leader and so I have to give classes every week with my district and they report to me everyday. I'm liking it so far.

I wanted to brand this year!!! It looked really fun and I miss working in general. We did a service project this week of carrying gravel and sand and it made me miss the farm haha.

We have been receiving a lot of references lately so hopefully we can find them and start teaching them. Also we are going to start teaching a girl so that she can get baptized. Her family is a member and everything but she is 9 so the responsibility falls on the missionaries.

Not much has happened but General Conference is coming up this weekend and I can't wait! I really want all of you to watch it. it's a blessing that we can listen to the prophets and apostles talk. We can receive answers to our prayers and receive guidance in our lives! and also feel the spirit and learn.
Love and miss you guys!! Siempre Sonreír!:)

Letter from the President & Sister De León

Dear Bastian Family,

We would like to inform you that your son has been assigned to the following area of responsibility in the Mexico City Northwest Mission. He is assigned to work in the Madero 2 area, within the Cuautepec zone, and his companion is Elder Cano. He is serving as Trainer.

Your son has been called and chosen to be a trainer in this mission. This is truly the greatest honor that a missionary can receive in the mission. They are asked to prepare, train, instruct and love the next generation of missionaries. It truly is a sacred calling. As he teaches the language, the lessons, exact obedience to the mission rules, he will set the pattern for the success of those that follow. He is to teach the importance of personal study and conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the restoration of this gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith, and the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. He will teach of love for the people, who are truly prepared to accept the restored gospel. As he teaches and walks side by side with the members who are active or less active, he shall teach in the way God desires the work to be done and will experience real growth! The Lord has placed complete love and trust on your son to not only fulfill, but magnify this awesome calling.

Sister De León and I would like to thank you for your son. He is really working diligently to perform his calling with an eye single to the glory of God. It is truly an honor for us to serve with him. We love him and shall do all we can to care for him. Thank you for entrusting him with us as he serves to invite many to come unto Christ.

Sincerely,

President & Sister De León

WEEK 30

Lleno de Cambios

Hola Familia!

So you might have noticed that my title says full of changes. It's because this week I had a lot of changes!!
So we had transfers this week and my comp got sent to a different area and I am staying in this area. Soooooooo I am going to be a trainer this transfer so I'm training an Elder right from the MTC.
My new comp is called Elder Canó and he is from the Dominican Republic. We only have 2 days together but I think we will get along. His Spanish is a little different than it is in Mexico also.
So these aren't the only changes. I'm also going to be a District Leader so I have a little pressure this change and more responsibility. I think I'm going to like it though.

Other than that not much has happened. We have this investigator, Cynthia, and she is really good!
She knows all the lessons and she has prayed and she knows that this church is true and she wants to be baptized ....... but her parents don't want her to be baptized so that is pretty hard. We are going to talk to them this week so that we can know more. But this made me think of how important families are in this gospel. When we all have the same goal to live with God after this life we can have a better relation and overcome anything in this life as a family. I am so grateful for your guys example in my life and for making me the person I am today. I really want that you guys can do all that is possible so that we can be an eternal family and I know once we accomplish this we can have a joy that is impossible to describe. Nothing in this life is easy and but we have to experience hard things to realize our blessings. And just remember that anything is possible if we trust in God. I love you guys so much all of you.

WEEK 29

Another email, another week

Hola Familia!!

Not much has happened this week just pretty normal. This is the last week of the change and I think I'll get a new comp because my comp has been here for 6 months in this area haha.
We had a mission conference and that was really good. I got to see all the people from my last zone and talk to them. The messages were really good also.
We had the baptism of Emiliano! It was really good and we had a good turn out. We also ate pizza after. All the members were good to make him feel comfortable and I think he will fit right in to the ward pretty good.

DyC 82:10 we used this scripture in a lesson and I really like it because it is so true. If we do all that we should do in this life we can receive the blessing in our lives. God never breaks his promises so all we have to do is to follow the commandments of the Lord and we can be happier. The commandments are blessings and not rules .. always remember that.

Love and miss all of you!
Siempre Sonreìr!! :)

WEEK 28

 No sé que semana es

Hola familia!!

Not too much to say in this email not much has happened. But something about my area is that there are sooo many Volkswagen bugs!!! They call them bochos. We haven't had gas at our house for like 2 weeks so I had to take cold showers. Don't worry we have gas now.

So this week we are going to get the baptism all set up for Emiliano! That is exciting. He is a type of kid that is really shy. These last lessons that we had with him he started opening up more and I started just saying funny things and acting a little goofy with him and after he was laughing and smiling and opened up a lot more in the lessons. That goes to show you that attitude is really important. We should all try to have a better attitude about the things in life and enjoy every moment. Here is a quote that I have remembered ever since I was like 12. " If you don't like something change it, if you can't change it, change your attitude".

This other investigator that we have is named Jenifer and I asked her about her prayer to see if this church was true and she said that she felt really good and that she felt peace and happiness and that in this moment she knew it was true and this is the path she should take in her life. After I explained that that was the Holy Ghost that she was feeling. The Holy Ghost is real and it is something really important in our lives. We can feel comfort and become to know that truths of all things. It's really a blessing that we have the opportunity to have the Holy Ghost with us.
Anyways the only problem that we have with her is that she works on Sundays.................

Love and miss you all!!
Siempre Sonreír!!
