WEEK 66

My 3rd "Kid"

So surprise... I am training again. This will be the 3rd time. His name is Elder Matos. He is from the Dominican Republic and is 23 years old. I am also staying in the same area and I am still district leader. I will be missing Elder Headrick a little we were working really well together. 

We had some really good lessons this week. We were teaching someone about the holy ghost and in the middle of the lesson she told us that she thinks that she is feeling the holy ghost in her life for the first time. She told us that she finally feels happy. This was an amazing experience that I will never forget and how strong the spirit was. 

We were walking down the street and a kid ran up to us saying Elders elders!!! we talked to him and then his dad came. His dad told us that he is not a member yet but that he recieved an answer from God that he needs to listen to us. 

Miss everyone and also I love those trucks!!!! I am definitely driving those when I get back. Also Thankgiving looked awesome!!! I wish I could've been there. 

Do the small things.

WEEK 65

Día de acción de gracias

I hope you guys enjoy Thanksgiving this year. I am really missing some good American food!  

We had the zone conference this week. It was pretty good. The theme was letting people know that they feel the spirit it was really good. 

It was also the stake conference this week. 

We watched a face to face with Elder Oaks and Elder Ballard answered questions to the youth. It was really good and found some answers. 

funny story- we were asking one of the people we teach about the tree in Lehi's vision and we asked him what is the fruit in the vision, and he told us "ummm I don't know an apple" 

This Sunday we went to an appointment with a girl that contacted us in the street because she wanted us to pretty much cast out demons in her house so we told her we would pass by. We didn't cast out demons but we did start teaching them. We taught that the holy ghost does not dwell in impure places. They really do want to make these changes so that they can have the spirit in their lives. She also invited her whole family so we taught like 10 people. But it makes me realize that in order to have the spirit with us we may need to make some changes or take some steps so that the spirit will be able to dwell within us. 

We climbed the hill today and had some good views, mostly pollution but it was good. We went with some investigators. And I am super burnt..

WEEK 64

Surprise Baptism

Hello 

We had a leadership trianing this last week and that was good. Finally had this training with 9 months as a district leader. 

We had divisions this week and Elder Lloyd, my comp in the ccm, came to my area with me. It was pretty cool being together again teaching after a little more than a year. We had some good lessons. 

We ended up having a baptism this week. Her name is Maira Xochilquetalli Trejo Chable. She has been an investigator for awhile now but she finally took this decision. She was planned to be baptized but she was about to leave out of the state and so we baptized her this week. She was super stoked.

WEEK 63

 ¡Día de Muerto!

Hola Fam
So Día de Muerto was alright. We had to return to the house early that day. Some people did give us candy tho! We also ate some pan de muerto and it was pretty really good. 

This week we put about 6 baptismal dates so that is super awesome. It really is a spiritual experience every time some one decides to take this step in their lives. 

We contacted a guy in the street the other day and it was perfect timing! Almost all his family are members but he never wanted to listen to the missionaries but he told us that in these past 2 weeks he has aumented the faith in God and that he feels the need to change his life. Also his grandsons were talking to him outside their house about what they learned in church and in that very moment we contacted him. He was telling us over and over how he knows that God has sent us to him in this moment in his life and that he will do whatever it takes to be on the right path. This was a really good experience. Once again I have seen that God guides us to the people that are prepared for the Gospel. 

This Sunday Fernando our recent convert received the priesthood!

WEEK 62

Happy Halloween!

Hola,

So I finally bought a camera! I bought it in a pawn shop haha. but everything there is pretty cheap. I bought this camera for 21 dollars or 385 pesos. (Yes I broke my other one a couple weeks ago...oops)

We had a lesson with a family that have been investigators for awhile and we had a lesson about plans and goals. Little different of what we do but it was a really good lesson. Think about the goals you have and come up with a plan to achieve it. Also more than anything think about Gods goal that he has for us and if we are following this plan. 

I had to give a district class this week like always but one of the topics is, What's better, the pain of discipline or of repentance? Discipline is necessary in order to improve and learn but we need to have also the obedience and diligence to the commandments of God. We will come to know that discipline is better than the pain of repentance. 

We were contacting in an area where we usaully do not contact and we knocked on this random door and it ended up being some inactive members and they were super excited to see us and they are wanting to return to the church. Crazy how God puts you in the right places in the right time.

WEEK 61

Happy Birthday Grandma!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like hunting season was a success this year! 

Feliz cumpleaños a la mejor abuela en el mundo! 

This was a pretty good week. We had a lesson with this elderly couple that are SUPER catholic haha. He just recently got his leg amputated and is in a wheel chair. This was a pretty interesting lesson because he can't listen very well. So legit through the whole lesson I was yelling haha it was super weird. He his not interested at all but his wife is super interested so we will see how that turns out. 

We had a lesson with the recent convert Beatriz and she invited her friend to listen to us so that is pretty cool how she has this desire to share the gospel. 

We had a family home evening with a family of members and also a family that they are not all members. We watched the restoration of the gospel and some activities. It was really good and the spirit was strong. You guys should watch that. We also ate some s´mores after. (first s´mores that I have had in Mexico) they were good. 

We had a lesson with recent convert Fernando and with another member to prepare him to receive the priesthood and he is excited. 

We also did contact a lot this week! It was good. It is really a neat thing to see how God puts people in your path.

WEEK 60

Feliz cumpleaños a Colton!

Hola Familia! 

So we had changes this week. I am staying in the same area of pastora 2 and I am still with Elder Headrick. I am also still a district leader. So everything the same. 

This week has been pretty calm. We set a baptismal date for the 11 of Nov. This week I have noticed that a sincere prayer and the desire to change really works. The investigators are really starting to make a difference in their lives. Fernando that just got baptized is preparing to receive the Priesthood. 

In this change some good buddies have finished their missions. Also, My generacion is the oldest gringos in the mission now so that is weird.
