WEEK 23

5 months ........ and one week
Hola familia!
Have fun playing in the snow. I miss it. And also be careful.
So this week was an interesting one. I puked in the middle of the night and then for three days I had some major pains in my stomach. But the work continued and I am better now.
We had a video broadcast from Salt Lake and we have changes in the schedule. 7:30 to 11:00 now so that's pretty cool. We also have a little more flexibility also.
We had Mission conference this week also and my comp had to give a talk in English and it was horrible haha because he knows nothing. Everyone was laughing haha. I also saw Elder Ulrich there so that was pretty cool to see him and we talked a little. It was also a good conference.
We had service this week just My comp and I and we planted flowers with a knife haha.
Oh my comp got his "Dear John" letter so that was sad. I had to comfort him
This is the last week of this change and I am in a trio now with Elder Alonso and Mozombite because his comp went home. So we have 2 areas for 1 week haha. So we moved to a different house for just the week that has 3 beds, but I will be back to my home next week. It's been pretty hard with teaching this week because so many people here never have time. But the spiritual moments that I have in my mission make up for all the hard times for sure.
That's about all I have for the week but I love and miss all your guys.
And I know its late but I want to thank all the people that sent me money for Christmas I know that it will come in handy, and thanks for all the support I have from everyone.
Siempre Sonreír al pesar en tiempos de dificultades :)
Love Elder Bastian
We ate at a nice restaurant and pic with Elder Ulrich:

WEEK 22

Puede recibir respuestas de sus oraciones

Hola familia!

This week has been pretty normal.
Oh except that I received my package! Finally!! haha it was an adventure to get it that's for sure. We went to the airport and it wasn't there..... we got to take the metro so that was pretty cool. I was starting to lose hope but I didn't want to give up so we found out where it was and told them to send it closer to us. A member helped us a lot and I went to the place and got it... I LOVE MY PACKAGE!!!!! it's coool and I really like the pictures....good job and I wanted to open all the cards that g ma sent but I only opened 2 so far haha. It was a good taste of home.
Our investigators are a little frustrating haha but we have 2 that are progressing really well.
We had a new investigator named Antonio and he didn't believe in God. We talked to him about prayer and the Holy Ghost and challenged him to pray if God exists. .
We had another appointment with him and he said that he didn't feel anything and didn't receive his answer. I then starting talking about faith and that we need to have faith so that we can receive these answers. I gave him ways that he could show his faith by praying every night and have real intent in his prayer and have a sincere heart and believe that he will receive an answer. We had another appointment with him and he told us that he felt different this time and felt calm and peace in this moment and we explained that he had felt the Holy Ghost and that he received his answer. He now believes in God. This was a really spiritual experience in my mission. We helped an 18 year old kid realize that there is a God. We played basketball with him today and ate lunch with him. He wants to know more also.

I want to challenge everyone that reads this to pray to see if this Church is really true. Even if you are a member and have a strong testimony I want you to pray sincerely and have faith that you are going to receive an answer to your pray. And I promise that you will receive an answer and feel the spirit and have a really good experience . Moroni 10:4-5

I love and miss all you guys!!

We had a service project and it was horrible!! We had to fill sacks with sand that was like 60 lbs and carry it up a super steep hill and stairs!! And there was a lot of sand!! And 8 people so we had to make a lot of trips! It was super hard and took 3 hrs I have pics of this. The view was really cool too

WEEK 21

El Amor es la clave

Hola Familia!!

So this week I didn't really do very much because I was sick for 2 days but it wasn't that bad. My companion was also sick. At the District Meeting we had Rosca de Reyes. Which is just bread in a circle with sweets on top and a tiny plastic baby inside of it. If you get the baby you have to make tamales the rest of the month. I didn't get the baby luckily. We went to Carls Jr. This week and for a little bit I felt like I was in the United States in the Summer.
We had splits again this week because last time we couldn't really do anything. It went good and I learn something new every time.
I'm starting to really love my area and the people. I realized that when I have the love for the people when I teach I can teach better and the spirit is stronger. Before I was just worried about my Spanish but now everything is for the people I teach. We have one investigator that is progressing really well and I am hoping for a date this week. One of the people that we taught is athiest so he doesn't believe in God. We talked about his beliefs and also about ours and we ended up talking about the plan of salvation and about prayer. He says he's going to pray to see if God exists. It's crazy that some people think that God isn't real. I know that is real and he loves us and he wants the best for us and I can't literally see him but I can see the blessings in my life because of him.
Im starting to be more comfortable as a missionary and im enjoying it more and more everyday.
Love and miss you all!! and be careful in all that ice!

WEEK 20----4 MONTHS

Riot in Mexico

Hola Familia!

Not much is really happening in my mission just the same old working hard and contacting all day.
So I had divisions with Elder Leon and when we were eating lunch we got a call and they said that we had to go to our house because people were rioting because the price of gas went up. We were far away from the house so the member drove us home. So we just sat in the house all day studying and playing board games.

It has been different with my new comp but it is good because he is also new and knows no Spanish haha so it forces me to step up which is a good thing. Lessons are good and we get along really well.

We played basketball today and then futbol or soccer and I am horrible haha but it was really fun. I'm starting to work out again because I am pretty sure I'm getting heavier and weaker haha.

We have this new investigator that said that he could see people in the pictures of people and faces in the pamphlet that we gave him so that was really interesting haha. He's a challenge for sure.

We went on a hunt for my Christmas package and it was horrible.... we had to go out of the area and the address was weird so we got half way lost and then when we found a  FedEx office it was the wrong one and they searched on the Internet to see if it was in the other office and it wasn't there so all that for nothing haha ... but.. we have the number now so now we can call and check.

That's about all but that  is crazy that there is that much snow!! I want to snowboard.. but I'd rather be here. I love and miss you guys a lot and be safe out there.

WEEK 19

Happy new years to all!!

So not much has happened. I have a new companion and he is pretty cool I have more fun with him than my other comp. We have 3 new investigators this week so that's exciting. I am also teaching more so that is really good. My comp is from Peru and his accent is pretty strong so it is more difficult to understand him and he also uses a lot of slang words haha. He was baptized only a year and a half ago so that's pretty cool.
Not really any cool stories but new years was pretty good. We couldn't contact and we only had one appointment so it was a little boring in the house but we woke up at 12 and then went outside on the roof and watched the fireworks for a little. Also that night we ate with Elder and Hermana Cardenas and the are married missionaries that work in the offices. The food was really good.

On Sunday there was only 21 people at the church and it was testimony meeting also so I thought that we would have time to bear our testimonies but the members that were there almost all beared their testimony and it was really strong and spiritual.

I love and miss all you guys and I hope that you all have a good new year and your resolution should be to get closer to God and Jesus Christ. If we do this our year will be a really good one I promise.
